Hungary's PM Orbán Argues For Respect For New Approaches
Hungary is a real laboratory, attempting to find answers based on traditional values to the challenges of the modern world, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in concluding his Wednesday lecture at London’s Chatham House institute of foreign affairs.

Noting that a two-thirds parliamentary majority such as he enjoys is a rarity in Europe, Orbán said that may be why he views the crisis not primarily as a problem, but as an opportunity for making deep structural changes.

Speaking in English, Orbán asserted the right of non-eurozone countries to choose their economic policy mixes, arguing that a wide range of responses must be acknowledged and respected.

In that vein, he continued, those who recognise diversity must recognise that the existence and concept of nations is still relevant.

As for families, he said “a community that is unable to sustain itself biologically will not survive and does not deserve it either”. Immigration is not the answer, he added.
