Invitation: Walk Up A Hill In Budapest, 6 October
Summer is now over and autumn is upon us, so get ready for the IHBC autumn walk around the lovely hills of Hármashater. This first autumn walk will be suitable for all (including children). The hike will be between 10 and 12k taking around three hours to complete.

The type of walk will be planned on the day and will depend on the numbers who show up, including parents with children, not forgetting those who want to bring their dogs.

If you can’t make the first Friday get-togethers, then this is another wonderfully way to socialise, catch up with friends, and meet new people. We will finish off the walk with a good hot meal and a well-deserved beer at one the many family restaurants in the Buda hills.

We will meet promptly at Széll Kálmán tér at 10:30am
Departing from Széll Kálmán tér on the No. 56 tram at 10:45 to Hüvosvöigy Way tram stop.

From here we will hike though the Hármashater hills and hopefully finish up on the other side of Hármashater-hegy around 3pm. at the family run restaurant www.fenyogyongye.hu for a well-deserved Hungarian autumn meal.

Please confirm if you want to eat; we need to know number as we have to book in advance. This place is popular with hikers.

After the meal, we can take the bus back down the hill to the bus stop near McDonalds and from there back to the city. Please take note that you will need three (3) bus tickets starting from Széll Kálmán: one to get to the starting point and two to get home from the restaurant.

What to wear and what to bring (please take note of the weather the night before)

Good walking boots
Warm clothing
Water, flask of hot drink
Snacks, energy bars, sandwiches, etc.
More updates to follow.
