Hungarian Socialists Look To Move On From Recent Fiascos
The campaign staffs of the Socialist Party and Together-Dialogue alliance will meet every week to discuss technical questions, Socialist leader Attila Mesterházy told reporters after the caucus met for five hours on Thursday. Mesterházy said the MPs discussed the party’s political and communication strategy leading up to next year’s elections.

Unidentified sources said Mesterházy spoke about the party’s debacle regarding the manufactured Baja vote-buying video as a “closed case”.

The party has become paralysed, he said, since the show of disunity at the October 23 rally that was meant to display left-wing solidarity.

Mesterházy urged party members to “enter a time machine” and return to the days that preceded the event, so as to concentrate on the party’s election platform.
