Budapest Transport Company To Invoice Siemens For Extra Costs Of Metroline
The Budapest transport company BKV will bill Siemens for the extra costs caused by delays in coordinating the operation of the new Alstom trains running on metro line no. 2 and Siemens’ safety equipment, business daily Világgazdaság said on Monday.

During the test runs, several technical faults were recorded. Siemens said the test runs are part and parcel of similar project contracts. Since September 4, the trains have run altogether 96,620 kilometres without passengers, for a total period of 407.5 hours, BKV said.

Test runs with passengers started at noon on Sunday and are expected to last for a year, the paper said. Metro no. 2, Budapest’s first deeprunning underground line, was opened in 1970.
