Hungary's PM Orbán Agrees With Gazprom On South Stream Schedule
Chairman Alexei Miller of Russian gas giant Gazprom reached agreement with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on plans for the section of the South Stream gas pipeline to run thorough Hungary, at a meeting in Budapest on Wednesday evening.

South Stream Transport Hungary, a company owned 50-50 by state energy company MVM and Gazprom, signed a related agreement with an unnamed international consortium of engineering companies on the 229km of pipeline to traverse Hungary.

According to these agreements, preparations and mapping the route of the pipeline will be completed in the first quarter of 2014 and construction will start in April 2015, with the first gas to be transported in 2017.
