Budapest Airport Passenger Numbers Edge Up In 2013

Passenger numbers at Liszt Ferenc International Airport rose slightly to 8,520,000 last year from 8,504,000 in 2012, Jost Lammers, who heads airport operator Budapest Airport, said in daily Magyar Nemzet.
Lammers said Liszt Ferenc’s Terminal 1 would remain closed for the time being.
He added that Budapest Airport was waiting for an outside investor to build a cargo base and an airport hotel. Terminal 1 was closed and the cargo base investment postponed after troubled national carrier Malév was grounded early in 2012.
