Budapest Applied Arts Museum Director Resigns
Museum of Applied Arts director Imre Takács announced his resignation effective March 25, after learning that the government plans to remove parts of the collection.

The Esterházy treasures are to be taken from the museum to the recently renovated Esterházy palace in Fertod, and the East Asian collection is to be transferred to the Museum of Fine Arts.

Takács said in his resignation letter that he cannot assume legal nor historical responsibility for the consequences of these actions.
