Budapest Signs HUF 27bn Tram Contract With CAF
The City of Budapest on Wednesday signed a 27-billion-forint contract on the delivery of 37 trams from Spain’s CAF, the mayor’s office told MTI. The contract includes an option for a further 87 trams. CAF was announced the winner of the tender last August.

But the Public Procurement Arbitration Board (KDB) ordered the Budapest Public Transport Centre (BKK) to reevaluate a bid by Skoda of the Czech Republic. BKK had found Skoda’s bid to be invalid. Budapest will take delivery of the first trams in the autumn of 2015.
