Lego Plant In Hungary Inaugurated
Hungary welcomes all investments that help the country become a production centre, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said at the inauguration of Danish Lego Group's new plant in Nyíregyháza, eastern Hungary, on Tuesday.

The 122 square meters new greenfield plant of the construction toy manufacturer was completed in only a year and is one of the most state-of-the-art production plants in the world, the Prime Minister underlined in his address.

He also pointed out that Lego Group was able to increase its profits by 15 percent even during a period of crisis, providing the basis for the present factory expansion.

The investment is worth EUR 200 million and will create 250 new jobs, in view of which Lego will employ a total of 1,500 people in Hungary.

More than 20 percent of Lego’s production capacity is located in Nyíregyháza, and all of the world’s Duplo toys are produced here.

In addition, Lego is one of 43 companies with which the Government has concluded a strategic cooperation agreement.

The Prime Minister noted that it is the country's dedicated and talented workforce that makes Hungary an attractive investment destination for large corporation and also highlighted the serious potential that lies in Nyíregyháza – where a total of HUF 170 billion (EUR 560 million) has been invested during the past four years – and other major towns in the region.
