Mobile Internet Subscription Numbers Swell In Hungary
The number of internet subscriptions in Hungary rose by 19% to 6,475,000 last year on the back of a big increase in the number of mobile internet subscriptions, a summary of data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) shows.

The number of mobile internet subscriptions rose by 28% last year. Mobile internet subscriptions now account for 63% of all internet subscriptions, up five percentage points from a year earlier.

Revenue from internet services rose by 4.7% to 164.4 billion forints (EUR 525m). KSH noted that the internet service provider (ISP) market is becoming more concentrated with 14 ISPs parting with their networks and just seven ISPs accounting for almost 93% of subscriptions.
