Employers Can Contribute To Employee Home Loans In Hungary
Employers will be allowed to contribute a tax-exempt 5 million forints (EUR 16,200) over five years to paying off their employees’ home loans, under a decree signed by Economy Minister Mihály Varga on Wednesday.

Varga noted that the average debt owed by Hungarian families on their homes was 7 million forints and that employers’ contributions could be used to pay off foreign-currency denominated loans, too.

Varga said opening Hungexpo’s Construma building industry trade fair that a subsidised home modernisation programme would also be launched soon, supported by state and European Union funding. Construma, which featured 510 exhibitors from 14 countries runs until Sunday.
