Hungary Calls On Sudan To Drop Death Sentence Of Woman Charged With Apostasy
Hungary’s foreign ministry has called on Sudan’s authorities to withdraw a sentence under which a woman charged with apostasy faces execution. The ministry also called on Sudan to observe fundamental human rights and religious freedoms in line with international human rights agreements Sudan is signatory of.

The 27 year-old pregnant woman was sentenced to death by a Khartoum court despite protests from several western embassies that called on Sudanese authorities to respect the right to freedom of religion.
