Giant Acquires Hungarian Big Data Startup
Global big-data analytics company RapidMiner has acquired its former partner, Hungarian software developer Radoop. The transaction is one of the first big data technological acquisitions internationally, Radoop told MTI. Building on its existing partnership with Radoop, RapidMiner’s will bring its entire big data solutions development business to Hungary.

The division, which will provide consulting services as well, will be headed by Radoop founder Zoltán Prekopcsák.

The division will be fully based on Hungarian developers and RapidMiner will retain all of Radoop’s staff. Radoop has a headcount of 10, which is expected to double in the next couple of years.
