Indian Tyre Maker Apollo Tyres Opts For Hungary - Report
Indian tyre maker Apollo Tyres has selected Hungary instead of Slovakia as the location of its new East European facility, Bratislava daily Hospodrsk noviny wrote on Friday.

We had talks with the Indian company for three months, and finally they said they have opted for Hungary, said Martin Alfldy, mayor of Sala, the possible Slovak location for the factory.

The $500-685 million investment is expected to create 1,200 jobs to produce 16,000 tyres for cars and 3,000 for trucks each day.

Construction could start in 2015 and tyre production can start at the end of 2016 or early 2017.

President Dnes Klujber of the Car Parts Manufacturer Association confirmed that there were intense talks with Apollo Tyre recently, but said he is not aware of any final decision.

The probable location is near Gyngys, Heves county on the M3 motorway, according to industry website autopro.hu.
