Hungarian Street Aid Groups Receive Cars That Could Save Lives
The Ministry for Human resources donated twelve cars to Budapest street aid organizations on Friday to help social work and the supply of homeless people. Imre Nyitrai, Deputy State Secretary for Social Affairs said that the cars could even save lives.

Mr Nyitrai said these street aid organizations play an indispensable role in helping homeless people, adding that half of the cars would be used in regional towns. He also reminded that homeless people need help across the country, as they can not only be found in Budapest.

The cars will be used by NGOs and churches. Norbert Lőrincz, head of the Public Foundation for the Homeless said that the cars cost a total 70 million forints (EUR 226,000). In Hungary, about 3,000-4,000 people spend their nights without shelter.
