Hungary's PM Orbán Opens New FTC Stadium
"Sports will show you who you are and what you can become if you work for it, and children must be made to understand that,” Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in a speech Sunday evening at the formal opening of the new Ferencváros football club (FTC) stadium, named the Groupama Arena.

Orbán first thanked God for the stadium, and then thanked the citizens of Hungary for raising the funds necessary for building the stadium “four years after the country was on the edge of bankruptcy”, adding “Hungarians showed that they will never give up”.

FTC president and Fidesz party director Gábor Kubatov was whistled at and booed when he expressed thanks to everyone. When Kubatov thanked Orbán, fans whistled even louder.

At the end of the inauguration the FTC anthem was played repeatedly, white doves were released and several Gripen fighter jets flew over the stadium.
