Most Hungarians Pay Their Bills At The Post Office
Ninety percent of all respondents in a representative survey said they paid their bills in the traditional way, using postal orders, pollster Kutatópont reported. The survey found that Hungarians were reluctant to switch over to electronic payment methods for reasons of economy.

According to its results, 33% of respondents have had experience with direct debit, and only 15% have tried online bank transfers.

Even fewer respondents (5%) have ever paid through ATMs, though more than half of the sample was aware of all those possibilities.

Of all regular payments, it is mostly loan instalments and insurance fees that people will pay through direct debit rather than using postal orders.
