Hungarian Government Seeks Amicable Assistance From US
As a strategic partner and friend of the United States, the Hungarian Government is expecting to engage in a constructive dialogue with the United States, with a view to any critical comments that may emerge, in order to discuss the ban that has been implemented to deny Hungarian nationals entry into the US, the Minister heading the Prime Minister’s Office said on Monday at the meeting of Parliament’s National Security Committee.

János Lázár highlighted that, at this point in time, only the party that implemented the ban is able to tell who is being denied entry and why.

The Hungarian Government has no information of any kind on these issues. He added that not a single government official had been informed of having been banned from the United States.

Levente Magyar, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said that André Goodfriend, Charge d’Affaires of the Budapest Embassy of the United States has not disclosed the names, titles or positions of the individuals concerned to the Ministry.
