Norway Firmly Rejects Hungary's KEHI Audit
Norway will not enter into discussions with the Hungary on the basis of the report released by government accountability office KEHI on October 22, according to a statement posted on the Norwegian embassy website.

The KEHI audit of fund administrator Ökotárs is in breach of agreements governing the EEA grants, the statement said, stressing that Hungarian public funds are at stake.

It said “We find the actions taken by the Hungarian government against the fund operator of the NGO fund Ökotars to show a troubling lack of respect for the independence of civil society. As such, we believe the Hungarian government is challenging basic democratic values underpinning European co-operation.”
