RTL News Catches Up With TV2 In Hungary
Viewer numbers for RTL Klub’s nightly news show “Híradó”, which is generally critical of the government, have overtaken those of TV2’s “Tények” newscast in the 18-49 age group and are nearly level among the entire population, according to market researchers Nielsen.

The main newscast of the state media was watched by 416,000 on average two weeks ago, as compared to over one million for RTL and 1.1 million for TV2.

The ratings for both stations have gone up sharply since the week of October 13.

“Tények”, traditionally the market leader in the 18-49 group and the entire population, devotes much of its coverage to police reports.
