Hungary's Development Ministry State Secretary Insists Toll System Will Stay
The motorway toll system introduced on January 1 may be adjusted, but will remain in force, despite criticisms, Development Ministry state secretary János Fónagy affirmed in a Thursday interview with Népszabadság.

Fónagy warned that nobody should expect any softening up of the system.

He said there is no estimate of how much revenue the state may expect from the new system.

His comments came after civilians and local Socialists closed down single lanes for one kilometre on route M86 on the outskirts of Szombathely for half an hour Thursday morning in protest against the introduction of a toll for use of the motorway.
