Orbán: New Toll System In Hungary On Test Run
The new toll road system is on a test run until the third week of January, PM Viktor Orbán said, inviting critics to come forward in this period with suggestions for improvement. Orbán said the new pay-by-county system was good and enjoyed broad support, but it needed some adjustments.

Under the scheme introduced on Jan. 1 a fee applies to the use of the M0 ring around Budapest and links to motorways near major cities. E-stickers for individual counties costing an annual 5,000 forints, or 16 euros, can now be purchased as a new alternative.

Orbán said at the end of the trial period the government would assess experiences and come to a “reasonable” conclusion, incorporating any changes that need to be made. The system in its final form can launch in February, he said.
