See What Happened @ AISB High School Bonfire
What does it take to get the kids of today out of the comfort of their warm, comfortable habitat late on a cold Friday afternoon? Some may say a holiday in the Caribbean, a million pounds, a trip to the moon, a night out with their favourite pop star.

The answer is Tarr Bence László and a team of fire engineers from NAPKAPU, who specialize in fire-related team building. And these particular youngsters rose to the challenge with flying colours. There were 91 kids and 10 teachers taking part in the first annual AISB High School Bonfire sponsored by the HS Parent School Association.

The purpose of the event was to boost the spirit and community feeling between high school students and their teachers. The program included a gulyás dinner, dancing, singing, fire walking (with shoes on, of course) and fire jumping.

Feedback was positive, “The bonfire was a great opportunity for students to challenge themselves and try new things”, said Mariana Grade 10 student. “Thought it was an excellent bonding experience for the whole high school, as well as a really good place to push yourself as an individual,” said Mr Jones, High School Science teacher. After all, AISB's team name is "Blazers" and the mascot is "Sparky".

Paul Slocombe, School Director told XpatLoop.com: "This was our first experience with an event like this, and for our high school students it was an unqualified success. Everyone had a great time, and the activities required students to step outside of their comfort zone. I was very proud of all of them for their willingness to engage in something new !"
