Balaton Shops Plea For Sunday Opening

Local authorities around Lake Balaton have asked Economy Minister Mihály Varga to allow stores in the region to open on Sundays during the summer tourist season. It is not multinational chains but small local retailers who are keen to open on Sundays, Balaton Association head and Szigliget mayor Balázs Balassa underlined.
The Socialist Party on Sunday called on the government to support the local retailers’ request to be allowed to remain open on Sundays from May 1 to September 30.
