Vác FC Match Report: Master Coach János Csank Does It Again
Cool but sunny weather welcomed the team as Vác FC travelled to FC Dabas last Sunday in the days Pest County Derby. Vác FC were focused on a victory in order to prevent Kozármisleny closing the gap at the top of the table and secondly, to get revenge for their loss against Dabas last autumn at Vác City Stadium.

This pressure was clearly noticeable in the first 20 minutes of the game. Vác FC played intensely, slowly and precisely against a strong, well orgaised defensive wall. The visitors could have taken an early lead if the referee had a awarded a clear penalty after 8 minutes.

Molnár Zoltán blocked Tóth Barnabás with a professional foul in the penalty area, which should have resulted in a red card and penalty kick. The refereee had a clear view but gave nothing. Vác still controled the game, but in the 21st minute as the result of a Dabas attack, Vác Goalkeeper: Rácz Márk, standing in for the injured Palásthy, showed his true colours as he saved brilliantly.

On the counter and in the 25th minute the visitors tested the Dabas shot stopper. Tóth Gergely passed from the left side and Pallagi headed goal bound, close but tipped over the bar. Unfortunately in the 34th minute, coach Csank had to substitute the injured Tányéros and send on Gyulás in his place.

After a quick re-organisation, Vác increased the tempo. They maintained pressure and held the ball well, the home team concentrated on their defensive duties. This resulted in no clear chances until the last minute of the first half, Magos passed into space for Zsolnai who scored a net-busting goal. It was a perfect time to score and took the visitors into the break with a narrow lead. (0-1)

Immediately, after the break, a trick from Magos took through on goal and he scored the visitors second goal from outside the area. (0-2)

Vác FC were now more composed, while it seemed the home team had given up and were merely going through the motions. The visiting team didn’t stop, they did their job except but for one chance which Dabas managed to create coming in the 58th minute from a free kick, Takács headed well but Rácz again saved.

In the 61st minute the Dabas coach, Honti József, made a double substitution in a last ditch attempt to change the course of the game.

On 66 minutes, Kószás missed a clear chance and on 80 minutes the visitors responded with Zsolnai’s free kick well saved by the Dabas keeper.

Overall, Vác FC dominated and deserved their victory. They played better across the park, had more chances and were clinical in front of goal. Dabas, although showed moments of intent, rarely threatened.
