One Dies, 29 Injured In Hungary In Storm
One person died and 29 others were injured in the storms that hit Hungary on Wednesday, a spokesman for the disaster management authority said. The man suffered an electric shock after he entered a basement flooded in the downpour, Dániel Mukics said. Authorities were called to help at over 3,500 locations nationwide with uprooted trees, broken electric lines, flooded facilities and collapsed or damaged roofs.

Several buildings were struck by lightning and went ablaze.

The cold front ended a recent heatwave, reducing daily highs of 36- 39 C by over 10 degrees just within a few hours.

Wind force during the storm peaked between 110-130 km/h at places.
