Record Number Of Illegal Border Crossings Registered In Hungary On Tuesday
On Tuesday, a total of 1521 migrants, including 360 children, were caught by Hungarian police forces in cooperation with community policing officers in the southern area of Csongrád county on the border with Serbia alone, the spokesperson for the county police headquarters said.

Linda Jászai disclosed that of the total of 55 groups intercepted, the largest was upheld at the border station of Röszke, where 174 people, most of them Syrian citizens, crossed the border illegally. Police have initiated proceedings against the migrants, she said.

Across the country, 1738 individuals were caught for illegally crossing Hungary’s state border, which is the largest number in the past thirty days. Criminal proceedings were launched against two persons on suspicion of human trafficking and against one individual for conterfeiting official documents, the communications department of the country’s national police force explained.
