Four Hungarian Universities Among The World’s Best
Four Hungarian universities have been listed among the world’s best on Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)’s world rankings for 2015/2016, published in the early hours of Tuesday. Among Hungarian higher education institutions, the University of Szeged, ranked in the 501-550 bracket, achieved the best result, somewhat improving its score for the previous year.

Both Budapest’s Eötvös Loránd University - Hungary’s largest higher education institution – and the University of Debrecen have held on to their 2014 position and are both ranked in the 601-650 bracket. Corvinus University of Budapest has also remained in the 701+ category.

The list continues to be led by institutions based in the United States and the United Kingdom. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) continues to hold on to its lead for the fourth consecutive year and is followed by Harvard and Cambridge.

Also included among the world’s ten best universities are Stanford, Oxford, University College London, California Institute of Technology, Imperial College London, ETH Zürich and the University of Chicago.

The list is compiled by the London-based company Quacquarelli Symonds every year since 2004 based on the following criteria: the ratio of lecturers to students, the number of foreign students and professors, employers’ opinions, the number of quotes of academic papers connected to the institution and academic opinions.
