Migrants May Cost Hungary’s Budget HUF 60bn
Economy Minister Mihály Varga has recommended that the budget be modified by adding Ft 60 billion to government reserves, due to the extra costs caused by the influx of migrants, including the fences at the borders with Serbia and Croatia.

Hungary’s response to the refugee crisis will cost the budget Ft 60 billion, economic policy state secretary András Tállai told state television, adding that the government is prepared to allocate more funds for this purpose, if necessary.

The 175km fence at the Serbian border cost Ft 29 billion. In the first eight months the wave of migrants has cost the budget Ft 30 billion, said budget affairs state secretary Péter Benõ Banai.
