Eurostat: 23% Of Hungary Jobless Find Jobs In Q2
Of the Hungarians who were unemployed in the first quarter of 2015, 23.1% found employment in the second quarter, while 66.7% remained unemployed and 10.2% moved into inactivity, fresh statistics published by Eurostat showed.

Hungary’s jobless had a better chance than the average unemployed in the European Union to move into employment in the second quarter but they also had more chance to remain unemployed, with the EU averages being 18.6% and 64.6%, respectively.

Moving towards inactivity was far less likely in Hungary, as 16.8% of the average EU unemployed moved into economic inactivity in the second quarter of this year.

Eurostat defined as employed all persons who worked at least one hour for pay or profit during the reference week or were temporarily absent from such work.

Unemployed persons are all persons not employed in the reference week, but who had actively sought work during the previous four weeks, and were ready to begin working in no more than two weeks.

Inactive people were those classified neither as employed nor as unemployed, and who can include in particular students, pensioners and housewives or -men, provided that they are not working at all and were not available or were not looking for work either.
