IWC Event: St Márton Day Goose Feast, Szekszárd Region, 8 November
Let’s enjoy a traditional „Goose and New wine feast” Hungarian country style, on St Márton’s day. This is the day when the hard labor of this year’s grape harvest turns into liquid gold. Tradition has it, that on this day in November, the wine is ready in the cellars and needs to be tested. Tradition also has it that on this day if one eats goose accompanied with the new red wine, similar to Beaujolais - will not be hungry for the rest of the year! So, . . . . why don’t we make sure!

Leave Budapest 9.30am Sunday morning on the No 6 highway, south to the Szekszárd region.

After a stroll through the town center, visiting some sights we will head towards the vineyards. Lunch will be the traditional Goose feast –Libator in a local country style inn. Their own cellar will provide the “new wine”. Later on we will visit the Takler family vineyard cellar, just down the road, and will taste the famous reds. Here will be an opportunity to buy direct from the cellar.

We will be back to Budapest around 8pm.
