Updated: Smog Alert In Budapest
Smog alert was cancelled on Tuesday 10 November. A smog alert entered into force on Sunday for the city of Budapest until further notice. As a result, the most polluting cars, fitted with black environmental stickers (pictured), may not use streets between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. The restriction does not apply to the M0 motorway nor to those roads linking Nagykovácsi and Remeteszõlõs to the city centre.

As mayor István Tarlós has asked commuters to use public transport, the Budapest Transport Centre will deploy more metro, tram and bus services than usual from Monday.
