Hungary’s Fourth Biggest City Miskolc Mass Transport Strike Likely
The Miskolc bus and tram drivers union will begin talks with the city tomorrow on providing minimum services during a strike, as the two sides have failed to reach agreement on 2015 wages. The union and Miskolc Holding agreed last April on a 3% wage hike for 2015, retroactive to January, for all 3,000 workers of the public transport company. However, the raises were never paid, due to “liquidity problems”.

After the union staged a demonstration in October, the company offered a wage increase from November 1, but only for bus and tram drivers.
