See What Happened @ First Winter Beer Festival In Budapest
The Serfőző Indoor Beer Festival was held between February 19 - 21 in the lovely halls of the Hotel Gellért - the first official winter beer festival ever in Hungary. This grand, elegant building was a fitting location for this fine array of brews. During the three days guests could taste excellent products from local as well as international brewers. Visitors seemed to all be enjoying the experience, and as Hungary becomes more and more cosmopolitan so do the beers!

There were more than 100 types of draft and bottled beers, making sure that everyone’s tastes were catered for. Without going through all of them, here are a few: Barbár, Blanche de Bruxelles, Bohemia Regent, Corsendonk, Floris Kriek, Delirium, Serkentő – Franzberger Brewery, Sümegi Brewery, Abbey of Zirc Manufactury, Kilkenny, Bombardier, Primátor, Bernard, Bigfoot Brewery, Maissel’s Weisse, Csíki Beer, Fót Handcraft Brewery, Wells & Young’s Brewery, Robinson Brewery, Brewdog, Flying Dog, Oedipus, Opat, Pardubicky Porter, Postřižinské, Satan, Hedon, Legenda.

Although beer in Hungary is commonly referred to as “liquid bread”, and they say man cannot live on bread alone, well judging by peoples enjoyment of this festival I think some might disagree.
