CEU Business School Event: Understanding SME Market Entry Strategies In Emerging Markets, 22 March
CEU Business School cordially invites you to the CEU Business School Research Seminar Series next event: Understanding SME market entry strategies in emerging markets: the role of institutional and resource-based factors, a lecture by associate professor Yusaf Akbar at Central European University, Business School on 22 March.

Abstract:

In this paper the authors address the theme of the export performance of the SME in the context of emerging markets. Surveying a sample of 200 exporting SMEs, they test specific hypotheses concerning the role of Institutional Voids (IVs) both in directly affecting the export performance of the SME and in moderating the positive impact of the SME’s resources and capabilities. Their results show that while directly hampering the export performance of the SME, IVs also have a negative moderating role on the firm’s marketing capabilities.
