Húsvét, in Hungarian, has many local customs: Egg painting is one of the most popular, and oldest traditions, along with Easter Sunday fun when the Easter bunny brings presents for children, which they find during the Easter egg hunt. The Easter/Spring Market on Vörösmarty tér is a great place to find some Easter-themed arts and crafts. Similarly to the annual Christmas Market, traditional Hungarian foods like kürtöskalács and lángos, roasted meats, fried sausages and other delicacies are also part of the offerings.

Easter in Buda Castle is all about traditions, art, culture and gastronomy. Activities include folk crafts, Easter egg painting, a petting zoo for the kids, live folk music and dance performances.
