Ritz-Carlton Leader Thrilled By Budapest
Budapest needs to market itself more intensively on the global tourism market, otherwise it is missing out on lots of opportunities, president Herve Humler of the newly opened Ritz-Carlton, told Népszabadság in an interview. The Ritz-Carlton opened its first Budapest hotel last week with 170 rooms and 30 suites following an extensive renovation of the building that once housed Le Meridien.

“Budapest is perfectly located as a European gateway to travellers, whether coming for business or leisure”, Humler declared at the opening.

Not many trendy cities are capable of what this city provides, he told Népszabadság, adding: “I have to say, you may not know how big a treasure this city you live in is to the world. There are many beautiful cities, culturally rich, with history, and where tourists can get around instinctively. But there are not many cities where tourists can walk the streets at 2 a.m. being 100% sure that they are safe”.
