Non-EU Nationals Buy Almost 50 % More Properties
Foreign nationals from countries outside of the European Union bought 2,708 pieces of real estate in Hungary last year, up almost 50 percent from 2014, daily Magyar Nemzet said on Thursday, citing data compiled by the Prime Minister’s Office.

The largest number of property buyers were from China, Russia, Ukraine and Israel, it said. Two-thirds of the real estate acquired was in Budapest. A number were also bought in Zala and Gyor-Moson-Sopron counties, in the west of the country.
