See What Happened @ Cinco de Mayo In Budapest 2016
Way back on 5 May 1862 a small poorly equipped Mexican army managed to defeat the invading French army, which was considered to be the best in the world at the time. Although Mexico eventually lost the war, the unlikely victory near Puebla came to symbolize a Mexican David defeating a French Goliath. Cinco de Mayo is observed in Mexico as a national holiday, and is celebrated throughout the world with various festivals and parties, including in Hungary.

Ever since the birth of Iguana Bar & Grill in Budapest some twenty odd years ago and more, Cinco de Mayo has become one of the best street parties in the capital, starting early and lasting late into the early hours.

So as the revelers gathered together to enjoy some great live music, fab street food and party-party-party on 7 May 2016…the spirit of Cinco de Mayo lived on here in Hungary!
