KSH: Hungary’s Tourism Nights Fall In April
The number of nights spent in Hungary by international and domestic tourists decreased by 0.3% and 3.3%, respectively, Hungary’s Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported.

Calculated at current prices, the gross revenues of accommodation establishments rose 4.7%, according to data by KSH.

The number of international tourist arrivals increased by 2.4% and that of international tourism nights decreased by 0.3%, KSH data shows. The most important source countries were the United Kingdom, Czech Republic and the United States, which increased by 9.9%, 6.9% and 2.8% respectively, in the period. The number of domestic guests decreased by 1.1% and that of tourism nights spent by them by 3.3%, KSH added.

The total gross revenue of accommodation establishments was 4.7% higher. Room occupancy in hotels decreased by 0.1 of a percentage point to 52.8%.

In the first four months, guest turnover increased by 7.2% and sales revenues by 8.5% compared to the same period of 2015, KSH said. Accommodation establishments reached gross revenues of HUF 97 billion, 8.5% higher in total at current prices, KSH said. Room occupancy in hotels rose by an average of 2 percentage points, to 46.8%, KSH added.
