Early July Storm Damage Claims Could Reach HUF 1bn, MABISZ Says

Claims by policy holders on damages resulting from storms that swept through Hungary July 12-14 could come to an estimated HUF 1bn, the Hungarian Insurers Association (MABISZ) said. MABISZ said that association members have received more than 10,000 damage claims with most of them filed in West and North West Hungary.
According to the association summer is one of the most risk prone times of the year.
In the last five years 115,000 claims were filed between May and August on average and insurers paid around 7.5 billion forints (EUR 23.8m) n for damages annually.
