Hungary’s Statement On The Deadly Shootings In Munich
The Government of Hungary expresses its deep shock and condolences to the families of the victims of the Munich shootings on 22 June 2016, and wishes the injured a speedy recovery.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has sent a message of condolence to German Chancellor Angela Merkel and to Bavarian Prime Minister Horst Seehofer, in addition to which Minster of Foreign affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó assured his German counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs Frank-Walter Steinmeier, of his sympathies.

On Saturday, Bavarian police confirmed that a Hungarian citizen, a boy born in 2001, was also among the victims of the attack. The boy had been living in Munich for around ten years and went to school there.

According to the family’s wishes the boy will be buried in Hungary, and the staff of the Consulate General in Munich are assisting with the required administration and are in direct contact with the family.
