Medical Services Available Without ID

Health care providers must not refuse services because of invalid social insurance cards, the government has confirmed in a decree. Patients have often complained that doctors and pharmacists refuse services when the patient’s identification number does not produce a green light on computers.
Népszabadság says the absence of a green light means only that the legal relationship with the person in question is not clear.
