Rio 2016: Hungarian Olympic Team’s Official “Anthem” Unveiled
The Hungarian team’s official song for the 2016 Rio Olympics has been officially introduced to the public on Tuesday. “Hallhatatlanok” (“Immortals”), written by rapper Deniz – real name Dénes Rizner – is meant to relate to everyonbe who have ever done sport or merely rooted for a Hungarian Gold. The song was also played at Hungarian Olympians’ oath-taking ceremony held in the Palace of Arts, Budapest, last week.

The song’s clip features Olympians and Paralympians preparing for Rio, as well as Hungarian champions from previous games. Speaking to the Hungarian Olympic Committee’s website, the performer said that working together with the “very helpful” athletes was a great honour.

His aim was to reach all Hungarian people around the world with the song, which is meant to evoke feelings from all who have ever done sport.

“I will be very happy if I can make even a slight contribution to the successful showing of our Olympians in Rio”, the 30-year-old musician said.

This year’s Summer Olympics are to begin in the Brazilian city on 5 August.
