BP To Set Up HUF 8BN Services Centre In S Hungary
British oil and gas company BP will establish a new services centre in Szeged, in southern Hungary, with an 8 billion forint (EUR 26m) investment, the foreign minister announced in Budapest.

The Hungarian government is contributing 1.9 billion forints to the project, Péter Szijjártó told a press conference.

Brian Puffer, BP’s vice president for global business services, said the new shared service centre will employ 500 highly-qualified people by 2020.

He noted that BP established its first services centre in Budapest in 2009. BP has chosen Szeged for its business environment and presence of a university, as well as for the proximity of a motorway and excellent cooperation with local authorities, he said.
