Bus Drivers To Get Protection
Budapest buses will be equipped with protected cabins for drivers, under an agreement reached between unions and executives of the public transport company BKV.

The modifications will be designed by the end of September and gradually installed thereafter.

Bus drivers demanded cabins that can be closed after a passenger attacked and seriously injured a driver with the arm of a passenger seat last Wednesday.

Old, Hungarian-made Ikarus buses earlier used by the BKV had closed cabins, but the modern ones do not.
