Midwife Geréb Convicted Again
The Capital Court on Monday sentenced gynaecologist and midwife Ágnes Geréb to an 18-month prison term, suspended for three years, and banned her for five years from practising her occupation.

The sentence exceeds the 12-month suspended sentenced and three-year ban meted out by a first-instance court last November.

Midwifery remains illegal in Hungary.

Geréb was convicted of endangering others, forgery of official documents and quackery.
