Unique Hungarian Souvenirs On Andrássy Avenue
Projekt Showroom has opened its newest alternative souvenir pop up store called „Budapest Colors” at Andrássy Avenue 5. The team was experimenting with the theme a year ago, however this year’s stock is going to be a way more unique. To make the time spent in Budapest even more special, they have collaborated with local artists to produce limited edition souvenir items only available in the upcoming pop up, and teamed up with selected sightseeing tour organizers to compile memorable and quality programs.

The Budapest Colors Store is open from July 25 to September 30 at Andrássy Avenue 5. The organizers have long cherised the idea to bring the talent, inner world and lives of Budapest, its locals and artists all under one roof, encapsulating the many faces of the city in spirited souvenir items.

The souvenirs available in Budapest Colors strive to show the contemporary aspect of Budapest, they are all unique, progressive both aesthetically and regarding the quality standard set by the organizer team. It has been top priority for us during the process of selection to fulfill these criteria.

Last year we attempted to create a similar store, however this year the portfolio is even more diverse, partly due to the fact that items specially designed and crafted for this pop up are included. We have chosen objects that we – ourselves - would gladly take home with us, or would see fit to surprise our relatives and friends abroad. – says Krisztina Csikós, the founder of Projekt Showroom.

More than 80 individual designers and manufacturers have been invited to present their work and art within a wide price range, neatly arranged in the nearly 170 sq m space. The selection contains albums on Hungarian art, guide and cookbooks in foreign languages, textiles, ceramics, smaller decor items, beauty products such as soap, oil and balms. In the field of gastronomy jams, syrups, honey, pickles, chutneys and balsamic vinegar pamper the palate.

As far as souvenir fashion goes a multitude of totebags, backpacks, pouches, waistbelts, jewellery, dyed shawls and tops, dresses please fashion lovers. The selection is made complete with gift ideas for kids and must have stationery products such as travel journals, prints and postcards.

The Budapest experience is made unique and diverse by carefully selected program ideas, tours of all kinds compiled by the organizers of the store, whose aim is to recommend programs that make way for quality time and memorable moments for everyone who seeks to have in-depth insight into the life of the city.

As usual, the product selection is showcased in a specially tailored interior built for this one and only occasion and this time it has been designed by the team itself.
The freehand drawings are done by Slip and Ábra graffiti artists and the shopwindows have been designed and built by Judit Szécsi paper engineer.
