Designs Invited For Puskás Stadium
The state sports centre has announced a tender for architectural designs for the new Puskás Stadium, the former People’s Stadium built in 1953. The main outer characteristics, including pillars and a tower, must be kept.

The revamped stadium is to have 60,000 seats, a sky box, a VIP section and a Business Club as well as a museum and a restaurant.

There is no upper limit on the final cost of the construction.

Bids must be filed by January 11, 2017. The new stadium must be ready to host two European football championship group stage matches in 2020.

Demolition of the outdated elements of the stadium started on October 5, 2015 and was completed last month.
