New Israeli Ambassador Presents Credentials To President Áder
Yossi Amrani, Israel’s new ambassador to Hungary, presented his credentials to President Janos Áder. After the ceremony, the ambassador told MTI that he would seek to convey his country’s message of cooperation to the Hungarian people and its leaders.

Cooperation is to be pursued at every level, Amrani said, and added that he would work to promote academic and scientific exchange programmes and strengthen business cooperation to the benefit of both countries.

Hungary and Israel are linked through history and Hungary’s Jewish heritage, as well as the commitment of both countries towards peace, security, stability and welfare in their regions and in the world, the diplomat said.

Referring to the Holocaust, Amrani said that the tragedy must always be remembered and “history should serve us as a moral and political compass rather than being a barrier”. Israel and Hungary are excellent members of the international community and share strategic positions concerning global issues, the new ambassador said.
